Today one of our volunteers and her husband braved the bitter cold and made the the first trip of 2024 to Indy Humane to pick up pet food for our Petfood Pantry at Combined Community Services. They were able to bring back 895 lbs of dry dog food, 78 lbs of dry cat food, 36 cans of wet dog food, and 310 cans of wet cat food. As always we appreciate Indy Humane for giving us the opportunity to help feed the pets of families in need here in Kosciusko County, ESPECIALLY on bitterly cold days like today! All of this food will be delivered to CCS tomorrow, January 18th.

Low Cost Spay and Neuter Transport
Unfortunately, One Dog at a Time Rescue will no longer be able to provide the transport service for lower cost spaying/neutering for the public. We do not have the numbers needed to fill a monthly transport on our own and Humane Ft Wayne will no longer keep us on their transport schedule. They have had many requests by other groups to be added on their transport schedule, so the smaller groups are being dropped. We had a good run and were able to assist in getting 1, 165 animals spayed/neutered in the past 10 years.

Starting tomorrow (September 13th) we will be having an online fundraiser! We have partnered with Pet House Brand by One Fur All and will be selling candles and other home fragrance items. These items are pet friendly, help eliminate pet odor, are long lasting, and are made in the USA! The candles are made of soy, are dye free, and come in reusable glass jars (good for storing your pet’s treats in after the candle is used up π). Best of all a portion of every sale benefits One Dog at a Time so that we can continue our mission!
